I came across an exhibition recently that is put up at Green Park Metro Station Concourse by INTACH. For long, I had a desire to explore the seven cities of Delhi. A city that has been uprooted and settled a number of times, ruled by numerous dynasties who left their mark with structures, a perfect blend of art and culture, of their time.
The exhibition takes us back to the fourth city of Delhi, and presents us the history with beautiful pictures and texts in brief explaining the same. Thanewala Gumbad, Chor Minar, Dadi-Poti ka Gumbad, Idgah, Moth ki Masjid, Darwesh Shah ki Majsid and Madarsa-i-Firoz Shah are among the many structures captured beautifully in the exhibition.
The exhibition has also put up details of the urban villages, Shahpur Jat and Hauz Khas along with Deer Park, a haven for nature lovers in the city. The exhibition provides information about the historic things to explore in the area.
Apart from it, a pledge has been put in place by INATCH to care and preserve our heritage that also reminds us of our duties towards our history and the legacy that we have inherited.
The exhibition is an opportunity for us to take a break from our hectic lives and take another leisurely look through the pages of history that surrounds us. Do make time for this wondrous opportunity. Go explore!
